To prevent outright fratricide, the Addamses hire a nanny, the seemingly sweet and beautiful Debbie Jellinsky (Joan Cusack). However, Debbie is far from ordinary. She is a notorious black widow and serial killer, preying on wealthy men. Her plan to seduce and murder the perpetually optimistic Uncle Fester (Christopher Lloyd) sends the family into chaos. Meanwhile, Debbie gets Wednesday and Pugsley shipped off to "Camp Chippewa," a painfully bright and cheerful summer camp run by a tyrannical, Norman-Rockwell-obsessed couple where they must endure mind-numbing "affirmation" songs and a deeply disturbing Thanksgiving play. The interwoven storylines showcase the children’s battle against enforced conformity and the family's fight to save one of their own.
