The story revolves around , a small-time, quick-witted thief who makes a living by cheating people and occasionally "arresting" others. On his way to Hyderabad, he accidentally meets Gowri (Meera Jasmine) . A series of incidents forces them to travel together, and they soon become good friends. Shankar discovers that Gowri has run away from home because a dangerous gangster named Kumaraswamy (Ashish Vidyarthi) wants to forcibly marry her, believing her horoscope to be auspicious for him. The rest of the film follows Shankar as he concocts a clever plan to outwit the superstitious don and save Gowri.
