This is a crucial first step. Go to the menu bar and select (or a similar "Read" command). A window will pop up; click "OK". The software will read the current configuration from the radio. A progress bar will show the reading progress.
Ensure the Hytera USB driver is installed so your computer recognizes the radio as a COM port.
