The owner, a man named Jacek who came from Szczecin (formerly Stettin, formerly Pomeranian), calls the street Pommernstrasse with a faint smile. “It’s the same place,” he says. “Only the signs changed.” He keeps a black-and-white photo behind the register: a horse-drawn cart on a cobbled road.
