The story of follows Po as he reunites with his biological father, Li Shan, and discovers a secret panda village. The peace is threatened by the villainous spirit warrior Kai, who returns from the Spirit Realm to steal the "Chi" of every kung fu master in China. To defeat Kai, Po must transition from being a student to a teacher, training his fellow pandas to fight and ultimately mastering the power of Chi himself.
