MIDV-250 is primarily transmitted to humans through contact with infected rodents, particularly the multimammate mouse (Mastomys natalensis). The virus is shed in the urine and feces of infected rodents, which can contaminate food, water, and surfaces. Human-to-human transmission can also occur through direct contact with infected bodily fluids, such as blood, urine, and feces.
