The film follows John Wick (played by Keanu Reeves), a retired hitman who has lost his wife to cancer. As he's grieving, he receives a final gift from his wife - a beagle puppy named Daisy - to help him cope with his loss. However, his life takes a drastic turn when a group of thugs, led by Iosef Tarasov (played by Alfie Allen), break into his home, steal his car, and kill his dog. Unbeknownst to them, Iosef is the son of a powerful crime lord, Viggo Tarasov (played by Michael Nyqvist), who has a score to settle with John Wick.
